STOREHOUSE

HOT MEAL AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION
5:30-6:30pm THURSDAY NIGHTS
(doors open at 5PM)

Storehouse is a NOCC ministry to people who need assistance financially.

The priority is to provide food in two ways:

1) Through a hot and nutritious meal each Thursday evening (5:30-6:30pm).

2) Through provision of food that can be taken home to use during the week.

You can be part of this ministry even if you don’t volunteer on Thursday nights. Consider adding some of the following to your regular grocery shopping, then drop them off at the Storehouse table on Sundays.

Are your kids outgrowing their clothes too fast ?
Want to expand your kids’ closets without breaking the bank?
Are you holding onto clothes that would love to be worn again, but you have no one to pass them on to?

If you answered “yes!” to any of these questions, Lily’s Closet is for you!

Families with children, sized infant to Elementary, are invited to revitalize their kids’ wardrobes every month by participating in Lily’s Closet.

There are two ways to participate. If you are in search of something new for your little one, why not trade up at Lily’s Closet? Your small sized jeans or dresses could become a larger size! We would be happy to help pass along your clothing to someone else in need.

If you don’t have a need and would like to help supply Lily’s Closet we would love to help pass along your gently used clothing. You can donate them on Sunday mornings near the early childhood area.

If you are looking for an opportunity to serve in this ministry, contact the church office. Throughout the month, clothes are collected, washed, and sorted. On the last Thursday of the month we have teams that set up the room and lay out the clothes, monitor the room as people come in to select clothing for their children, and then pack the remaining clothes away and put the room back in order.

For more information please contact the office at office@nocc.org or 714-998-3181

AMOR 2016 Christmas Card Announcement:

NOCC received a Christmas Card from AMOR. The Staff and Elders were so touched by the message, we wanted to share it with all of you:

"Dear North Orange Family,
Thank you for your support this year.  I am personally blessed - but greater than that, you are partners
with a ministry that served the poor and the local church for 36 years by providing opportunity for 352,000 short termmisasionaries to provide 18,500 homes, as well as plant and build 36 churches. Lives are blessed because of you! Thanks for making this possible!  Merry Christmas!"

Thank you NOCC for your hard work! Keep being servants of the Lord!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Where in the World Are Our Shoebox's Going?

Thank you for blessing children in need through Operation Christmas Child and for donating online to discover the destination of your shoebox gift.

The shoeboxes we collected last year were delivered to children in Peru. The gift-filled box you packed shared the love of God in a tangible way and impacts not only the boy or girl who receives it, but also their family and community.

You can learn more about how Operation Christmas Child is working in Peru, and then share it with your friends via social media. Most important, please remember to pray for the child who received your gift.

This Year...

We began our donation drive with our annual Christmas In July!
What does this mean? Since July 2017, NOCC has been distributing boxes to the congregation and collecting donated items for this year's 7th Annual Shoebox Packing Party happening in November.

How can you help? Stop by the Operation Christmas Child table before and after Sunday services to pick up your very own shoebox and fill it with needed items for a child. OR... check out our Items List to see what you can donate, and we will fill the box for you!

Thank you, and may God bless you!

CARING COOKS

Caring Cooks is the church family in action. We lessen the burden on a family by temporarily taking up the time-consuming task of preparing a meal and, simply put, being there alongside them by helping with one less thing to worry about during their time of need. Caring Cooks provides meals to families with a mother who has just given birth, a family overwhelmed with a loved one in the hospital, or a family grieving over the loss of a loved one.

Have you ever asked yourself, “how can I become involved at NOCC?” Caring Cooks is a great way to get started. You can meet and make new friends while honoring our Lord through this loving service to others. When we go after what God created us for, we experience fulfillment, satisfaction, and fruitfulness. This is a great way to get connected with others who have the same likeminded heart.

As a Caring Cook, cooking a meal is not a requirement, but is preferred. We ask that you provide a home-cooked or high-quality “fast food” main dish, salad and dessert. We will let you know the families’ dietary needs and how many they are so you can plan appropriately. It is suggested that you call the family the night before to make arrangements for dropping off the meal. Another suggestion we offer is to include a short note of support encouraging them to prayerfully seek after God by staying in His Word during this challenging time.

You can send an email to the church office at office@nocc.org and let us know you would like to be a part of the Caring Cooks Ministry.
