OUTREACH MINISTRIES
THE STOREHOUSE IS OPEN!
The Storehouse Ministry is dedicated to people in need of food assistance. We are a partner agency with Second Harvest Food Bank. Through them, we receive a variety of donations which include bread/pastries, frozen meats, fresh produce and more. We seldom receive dry goods and pantry items.
HOURS: Monday & Tuesday, 2-5 PM
LOCATION: The Fellowship Hall
2-story yellow building in the northwest corner of the campus, downstairs
JOIN OUR MISSION & BLESS YOUR COMMUNITY
As mentioned above we seldom receive dry goods and pantry items. This is where YOU CAN HELP..
We are in the process of redesigning our distribution to allow our guests more independence in choosing the foods that they want. To make this happen, a full pantry is needed at all times. We are looking for a steady flow of dry goods/pantry items. Dry beans/rice, cereal, canned vegs, soups/soup mixes, peanut butter, pasta etc. are needed.
Storehouse Food Pantry needs
With recent changes to the laws, more local people are expected to become food insecure. If you are blessed and able to help provide food to our community, please consider donating. If you prefer, you can see some sample recipes here and shop for the ingredients for our guests to prepare at home. Simple and fun.
PEACE BY PIECE
We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the ECC (Early Childhood Center) from 7 - 9pm.
Precut Fabric and instruction provided. All it takes is your time. If you don’t sew or don’t have a machine you can still help.
These quilts are given to Sheepfold, Crittenton, H.I.S. House, Wounded Warrior Battalion, CHOC, and anywhere there is a need.
Contact the office at 714-998-3181 or office@nocc.org with any questions.
CARING COOKS
Caring Cooks is the church family in action. We lessen the burden on a family by temporarily taking up the time-consuming task of preparing a meal and, simply put, being there alongside them by helping with one less thing to worry about during their time of need. Caring Cooks provides meals to families with a mother who has just given birth, a family overwhelmed with a loved one in the hospital, or a family grieving over the loss of a loved one.
Have you ever asked yourself, “how can I become involved at NOCC?” Caring Cooks is a great way to get started. You can meet and make new friends while honoring our Lord through this loving service to others. When we go after what God created us for, we experience fulfillment, satisfaction, and fruitfulness. This is a great way to get connected with others who have the same likeminded heart.
As a Caring Cook, cooking a meal is not a requirement, but is preferred. We ask that you provide a home-cooked or high-quality “fast food” main dish, salad and dessert. We will let you know the families’ dietary needs and how many they are so you can plan appropriately. It is suggested that you call the family the night before to make arrangements for dropping off the meal. Another suggestion we offer is to include a short note of support encouraging them to prayerfully seek after God by staying in His Word during this challenging time.
You can send an email to the church office at office@nocc.org and let us know you would like to be a part of the Caring Cooks Ministry.
