CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES

KIDZONE

Welcome to KIDZONE, a ministry of North Orange Christian Church for children birth through 6th grade. The KidZone team looks forward to serving you in the days to come.

At KidZone we realize the value of family and we desire to partner with parents to raise children who love Jesus for life with their life!  Our programs are built around doing just that.

You will find that our safety screened KidZone leaders care about building relationships with kids and their families so they can not only model, but teach, Biblical Truth to children.  We know that one to two hours a week or 65 hours a year is not enough for the KZ team to do that, so we have built in resources and opportunities to come alongside parents to equip them to disciple their children at home.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions, or would like more information about KidZone.  We love kids here and we can’t wait to meet yours!

LIL KIDSZONE

9:15 & 11:00 a.m. Sunday Services

You’re under five years old and the world is bursting with newness.  Each day is filled with one new discovery after another.  Where did that bird come from?  Look, the moon is shaped funny tonight!  Who thought to color the butterfly like that?

First impressions with these little people are important.  That’s why we want to give babies, toddlers and PreK/K kids a first impression of their loving Heavenly Father that they will remember.  Lil KidZone uses the First Look curriculum, keeping it simple and fun with one basic Truth about God repeated all month long.  By the time children get to first grade, they will know that God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.  Lil Kidz meet together  in the Lil KidZone as follows:

· Infants and Toddlers
· 2’s & 3’s
· Pre K/Kindergarten

When you check in at the Kiosk you receive a nametag for your child and a matching parent tag.  When you return after the worship service, your parent tag is your claim check to pick up your child.  Safety is important to us in the Lil KidZone, so this check out system is to ensure your child’s safety.

KIDZONE FOR ELEMENTARY KIDS

9:15 & 11:00 a.m. Sunday Services

At KidZone, we desire that elementary children are equipped to enter middle school with WISDOM, FAITH, and FRIENDSHIP, knowing 150 bible stories and having learned about 36 different virtues, or what we call, LIFE APPS.

Our goal is that a child’s relationship with Jesus is reflected in the following ways:  I need to make the wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

All kids K through 6th grade will be in a Life Group with kids their grade level in the Trailers at the Northwest corner of the property with a caring leader who is intentional about building relationships with kids.

Each Sunday children will go home with resources to continue to grow their faith at home with parents who have the greatest impact on their child’s spiritual development.  Also, be sure to like the nocckidzone Facebook page for up-to-date information about what’s happening at KidZone.

FAMILY EXPERIENCE

Join us for FX!

At KidZone, we believe what happens at home is way more important than what happens at church. That’s why at the Family Experience (Fx) we have designed an evening to help equip parents with the Word of God so that they may impress and teach Truth to their children throughout the month at home. We also desire to provide a fun learning environment for kids!

FAMILY MEAL
An optional time for the NOCC family and their friends from the community to gather together over a meal in the worship center. How does this work? Bring your own meal to enjoy while gathered around a table of friendly faces.

Family Experience (Fx)
After dinner the entire family will gather for an interactive program which is designed to teach both adults and children. This time will focus on a specific virtue or Life App each month. This virtue will be the same as the one being taught in KidZone the following month.

SCHEDULE

7:00-7:30     Family Dinner in the Worship Center
7:30-8:30     Fx in the Worship Center (Parents, kids Birth—6th Grade & guests)

Dates:  Generally the first Tuesday of the month!

THE BIG SERVE

What is the Big Serve?
The Big Serve is an awesome opportunity for boys and girls to experience missions first hand.
We have partnered with other ministries and non-profit organizations in Southern California
to provide a place for KidZone kids to "Go into the world" and experience serving.

What will I do at the Big Serve?
Each day will be designed around these three areas:
1. We will meet as a group for an interactive devotional time to kick start our day.
Each student will receive a journal that they will use throughout the week.
2. We impact the community through work projects and outreaches.
We have designed age-appropriate service projects which will include:
- Community clean-up
- Park Outreach
- Storehouse service
- And more!
3. To end each day we will meet as a group for a time to debrief
and pack up the events of the day in our heads and hearts.

When is it?
Five Thursdays throughout the summer

Who should come?
Only those who are going into 3rd through 6th grade in the Fall
and are committed to spending the day in service.
We will have fun; however, behavior requirements are strict.
All students and their parents will be required to sign a covenant
and anyone not meeting the expectations of that covenant will not be allowed to participate.
Parents may participate with their children during the entire week, or even just for a day,
however we ask that other arrangements be made for younger siblings.

What do I bring and not bring?
Bring: Work clothes, work gloves, shoes for working, like sneakers.
You will also need a Bible, a servant's heart, a packed lunch,
a refillable water bottle and sunscreen.
Don't bring: Phones, iPods, or any electronics!

Is there a cost?
Yes, $25.00 for the first child in a family; $15.00 for the 2nd, 3rd, etc.
This will cover the cost of a t-shirt and supplies for the week.
Scholarships available upon request.

What do I do to participate?
Complete the registration/release form with the fee
and submit to the office the week before!
Registration will be posted with the dates and times.
