STEP CLASSES - MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
NORTH ORANGE CHRISTIAN CHURCH EXISTS
TO FACILITATE A PASSIONATE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
WITH JESUS CHRIST, LEADING TO LIFELONG DISCIPLESHIP.
This mission is the reason we exist at NOCC. So it is important for us to make the path to discipleship a clear one. What's that got to do with membership? When you become a member of NOCC, you are not only joining us as we strive to fulfill our mission, you are affirming your own commitment as a disciple of Jesus! Membership is open to anyone 16 or older who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, and been baptized into Christ.
When you first come to NOCC (or look at our website!) you probably have questions. You are wondering if this is a church you want to be part of. We want to make this process easy for you, so in addition to our website we offer a monthly "Pizza with the Pastors" the first Sunday of each month! This is a low-key, no commitment opportunity to meet the leaders of NOCC and ask any questions you might have.
When you want to pursue membership, we ask you to take three steps. Step 1 is a two-hour class focusing on what you need to know about NOCC and membership. Step 2 is a two-hour class focusing on the Essentials of discipleship, and how to build them into your life. Step 1 and 2 classes are held the 1st Sunday of the month at 6pm. A children's program is provided if needed and registering ahead of time for this is a must.
After completing these two classes, we schedule a Spiritual Health Assessment with each person (or married couple if they prefer) to help them assess their own relationship with the Lord and how to strengthen the Essentials in their life. When needed, the leader doing the assessment will help each person connect with a small group and/or become involved with a ministry.
When a person has affirmed their faith and baptism, completed the two Membership Classes and Spiritual Health Assessment, and become involved in service in some way with NOCC, s/he is eligible to become a member of NOCC.
If you have any questions about the membership process, please feel free to contact any of the elders or pastoral staff. Click here to go to the contact page.
The next Step Classes are September 10th
