Memorial Day: Real Worship

Randy Christian

Real worship isn’t necessarily what Christians from a given culture believes it is.  Sometimes it takes an experience of worship that is “out of the box” for us to realize what it can really be.  On this Sunday we will have just such an experience.  This will be the most innovative and unique worship experience NOCC has ever had.

Thanksgiving 2017: Intergenerational Service: "An Expression of Thanksgiving to God"

NOCC Pastoral Staff

Periodically, the people of NOCC gather intergenerationally—meaning all ages (in this case Kindergarten and up) worshiping together.  As we close the Thanksgiving weekend, we will be gathering together in this way to express thanks to our Lord with others in the body of Christ.

Basics of Worship

Stephen Ulangca and Randy Christian

What is worship?  When we think about worship and when we think about coming to worship our Lord, we tend to think of it as the music of the church, the singing of the church.  But is it really?  What does the word “worship” even mean?  And does it equal music?  Let us come prepared to focus on the Lord together.  Let us be able to leave all the distractions behind us, so that there’s only one thing on our minds, because it’s all about our God and not about us.

Knowing Jesus: "Living New"

Randy Christian

Colossians 3:1-17
When we change, it is more than just our behavior.  Our motivation changes as well.  We shift from pleasing ourselves or someone important to us, to doing what we do to be faithful to the Lord.  Decisions are made on a new basis—not just what we want, but what pleases Him.  The more we Know Him, the more our lives are lived for Him.

Prayer: "Memorial Day Weekend: Prayer Lab"

Randy Christian

Memorial Day in the US is a day to remember the sacrifice of others.  But for Christians, worship is about remembering Jesus’ sacrifice.  One of the ways to do that is to talk with him—about the sacrifice, about the life he has given us, about anything.  So, on this Memorial Day we will treat our time of worship together as a lab experience in prayer!
