THE BIG SERVE
What is the Big Serve?
The Big Serve is an awesome opportunity for boys and girls to experience missions first hand on five Thursdays throughout the summer. We will be partnering with other ministries and non-profit organizations in Southern California
to provide a place for KidZone kids to "go into the world" and experience serving!
What is this year’s theme?
Power Up! When we put our trust in Jesus, we receive an amazing gift: the Holy Spirit. It helps us raise our game and live the way God wants us to live. With the Spirit, we can use what God is doing in us to change the world around us.
What will I do at the Big Serve?
Each day will be designed around these three areas:
1. We will meet as a group for an interactive devotional time to kick start our day.
Each student will receive a journal that they will use throughout the summer.
2. We impact the community through work projects and outreaches.
We have designed age-appropriate service projects which will include:
- Community outreach
- Church service projects
- Storehouse service
- And more!
3. To end each day, we will meet as a group for a time to debrief
and pack up the events of the day in our heads and hearts.
When is it?
Five Thursdays throughout the summer from 9am-3pm.
July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1, & August 8
Who should come?
Only those who are going into 3rd through 6th grade in the Fall
and are committed to spending the day in service.
We will have fun; however, behavior requirements are strict.
All students and their parents will be required to sign a covenant
and anyone not meeting the expectations of that covenant will not be allowed to participate.
Parents may participate with their children during the entire week, or even just for a day,
however we ask that other arrangements be made for younger siblings.
What do I bring and not bring?
Bring: Work clothes, work gloves, shoes for working, like sneakers.
You will also need a Bible, a servant's heart, a packed lunch,
a refillable water bottle and sunscreen.
Don't bring: Phones, iPods, or any electronics!
Is there a cost?
Yes, $40.00 for the first child in a family; $30.00 for the 2nd, 3rd, etc.
This will cover the cost of a t-shirt and supplies for the week.
Scholarships available upon request.
What do I do to participate?
Pick up a sign up sheet on Sunday morning from your child’s small group leader or email Callie (email@example.com) to sign up!
Registration closes on June 30th.
