We’ve all heard of the good Samaritan, but what about the bad one? Morally tainted, socially undesirable, spiritually deceived, she just wasn’t a good person. Yet Jesus cared enough for her to spend time with her, talk to her and teach her. No barrier kept Jesus from showing her God’s truth and love.

We can all admit that Jesus comes first, but ambition and success can be very appealing. It takes a lot to be a star and still voluntarily step out of the spotlight. Most of us can’t identify with that difficulty simply because we’ve never been “stars”. So what does it look like to put Jesus first and realize life really is not about me?

We all have our ways of celebrating Christmas—our own traditions. Where do they come from? Our culture has its influence on us, but even our culture is influenced by something deeper. The only problem is that we don’t always see it. Behind our traditions is a truth that has existed longer than people have celebrated Christmas. In “The Roots of Christmas”, we explore the realities behind the celebration. We begin with a look at the baby in the manger. We’ve all heard about him, seen him in pageants, sung about him. But who is he? The answer is anything but the cuddly little child lying in the manger!

Prayer is communication with God—and that can include many things.
We ask for what we need, seek guidance, call for help, ask for protection, praise God and thank him for so many things. But if prayer is truly communication with God, shouldn’t that be two-way? We can talk to our Father about anything we want, but we also need to listen! The problem is, God doesn’t talk to us the way we talk to one another. So, how do I listen to God? Join us as we learn to listen to God!
