MISSION PURPOSE/VISION STATEMENT:
To bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to adults, teenagers, and children who are in great spiritual and physical need, so that they may feel the love of Christ, experience true salvation, and become free from the bondage to walk in faith and victory.
CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
We work with the at-risk children and teenagers from very low income families, helping them make good choices and above all to follow Jesus. We work also with parents to help them get and stay free from addictions that are so prevalent in this community.
VICTORIES:
We are regularly seeing people saved, baptized and growing in Christian maturity. We have a vital ministry with teenagers and children.
HISTORY:
We are continuing the work started by Scott & Gayla Congdon as an inner city mission church in San Diego. The area has now become one of the most multicultural in the United States.
CHALLENGES:
There has been great demonic attack against this ministry from its beginning. Witchcraft, pagan religions, and cults are strong factors here, as are gangs and drugs. Sexually immoral lifestyles are the norm. Pray that our people will be strengthened to make a clean break with their past.
NEEDS:
The people are poor and squeezed hard by the ever-growing cost of living. Often new people who come have great needs and can bring only small offerings. The Lord has blessed us with a large building, but it is old and in need of many repairs. Please pray for the salvation of the parents of the children and youth of our ministry.
